About Us

Mobileuc.net is the brainchild of Peter Brockmann, industry analyst and marketing consultant.

Peter's analysis and research into the evolution of the mobile uc market shows that the three factors driving innovation and adoption are reinforcing each other to create the climate for rapid market growth. The three factors most relevant to market growth are:

  • Better devices
  • Better networks
  • Higher user expectations

Better devices is driven by improvements in smaller higher performance mobile device electronics, more efficient radio power  algorithms, more intuitive user control paradigms and smaller, longer lasting batteries. The wide array of new platforms in the device market from Apple and Google promise to force RIM, Microsoft, Palm and Nokia to work hard to catch up in this dynamic market for smartphones and multi-purpose pocket devices.

Better networks is driven by the revenue pressure caused by the decline in landline services, the increasing utility of mobile services and the rapid adoption of mobile data services such as SMS, email and web surfing from the mobile phone. The classic digital wireless networks of the past are so passé. Users appreciate and demand higher download speeds, converged voice-data services and devices capable of MMS support. Mobile operators are investing billions to commercialize the newly licensed spectrum and will do so with advanced mobile data services that drive ARPU up and up.

Higher user expectations for intuitive device-network operation. Pinch and swipe are amazing innovations to technological anthropologists but are intuitive to mere mortals.
