Doctors Get Smarter About Smartphones

Currently 2/3rds of doctors use smartphones. This density is expected to increase to 81% by 2012 as ease of use, custom applications with productivity enhancing workflows and physician confidence with the technology, according to report by Manhattan Research.
The analysts at Manhattan Research report that physicians will be increasingly using their smartphones as pocket references for use in consultations with clients, managing administrative tasks (permissions, approvals, schedules) and even integrating with patient monitoring applications and systems in clinical settings. Simply providing automated notifications on changes in patient 'on-standby' roles may lead to improved health outcomes and a more responsive and therefore productive healthcare team leader.
